Massimo’s 3rd Birthday

Max cutting his birthday cakeWe have been celebrating Max’s birthday now for about four days! We started off on Saturday at Granny’s and Gran Bri’s with a cake for tea. Max loved having Happy Birthday sung to him and enjoyed helping me cut the cake. Then on Sunday Maddy, Olivia, Maz and Simon came over for tea and Mummy baked a cake – Massimo opening gift from the Outreach nurseswhich was edible surprisingly enough! Another round of Happy Birthday and some gift opening. On Monday (yesterday) Sarah and Moira came over to bring him his gift so we sang Happy Birthday all over again and luckily this time the gift was a toy! A tiny wind-up train on a puzzle train track – absolutely gorgeous, however Max keeps trying to catch the train as it goes along!

Massimo opening his gift from Aunty SandraThen of course this morning Max was up bright and early at 6.30 am and spent a lovely half an hour playing with Helen (the night nurse) and she sang Happy Birthday to him several times before we’d even got out of bed. When we got down for breakfast we had another round of Happy Birthday followed by present opening, as these photos show. He received a lot of very lovely presents, lots of clothes, and a few toys to add to the already large number that the children have already.

Massimo opening his gift from VernaIn the afternoon, Max had nursery as per usual on a Tuesday and I bought a cake for him to take with him (thank you Marks and Spencer!) and the children sang to him at break time, then the music teacher sang again for him in his music lesson. He just adored all the attention! Unfortunately it will be another year before he gets this treatment again!

Bet your place looks like Toys R Us now!!! Ours certaintly does. Love the pictures, it looks like Max certainly had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed being the centre of attention. Just like all 3 year olds do!!!
